Brooksville Free Public Library Breaks an Unofficial World Record!

On Saturday, July 20 under a bright blue sky, the library broke a “world record” when more than 400 people came to story hour with Sally McCloskey. Sally read One Morning in Maine and Blueberries for Sal to the delight of patrons young and young at heart. The library held the event in response to a similar storyhour held in Southern Maine in the summer of 2023. When we saw that 225 people came to a McCloskey storyhour that wasn’t in Brooksville, we knew we could do better. With tongues firmly planted in cheeks, we challenged the other library to a friendly competition and Brooksville really showed up! It was a wonderful and heart warming event. Thanks to everyone who made it happen.
